Auto-Scan File Sharing
Sharing files back into the P2P network is something you really should be doing if you want to be a good user and help other people to find what they’re looking for. Something that quite a few people think is that sharing files is difficult to set up and when you do it, it’ll really slow down the download speeds that you get in your transfers. In this article we’re going to show you a very quick way of sharing data which will only take a few minutes to complete.
The first thing you need to do is load up the program to be confronted by the main window. You then need to go into Control Panel –> Filesharing which is where you’ll find all of the options relating to sharing files in the network. You’ll see two different tabs here – “Auto-scan” and “Manual configure”. For this article, we’re going to be showing you how to use auto scanning so please select this tab for now. You’ll see a message shown saying “Hit Start scan to scan your system”. Do as it says and press the start scan button to allow Ares Galaxy to find files to share.
It will then scan the contents of your hard drive to see if you own anything that could be worth sharing into the network. You’ll be able to see the progress bar and the directory which the tool is currently looking in to keep an eye on the progress. The time this takes will depend on how many files you have stored on your computer so bare this in mind if you have a lot of files, you may have to wait. When this has finished, you’ll be provided with a list of files that it thinks should be added to the network.
At this point, the only thing you need to do is select all of the files and directories that you’re happy with. Note that the chances are you won’t be happy with all of them so make sure you scan the list manually yourself instead of just accepting it otherwise you could find that private data is given out to the rest of the network without you really knowing about it. Scroll down the list making sure they’re fine and then marking the checkboxes next to each one. When you’ve done so and you’re happy with the list you’ve selected, press the Ok button and then it will automatically share them with the rest of the network by making them publicly accessible to those who search for something relevant to the data.
In conclusion, our Ares free download really does try its best to make it quick and easy for you to share back to the people using this tool. It won’t negatively affect your download speeds so you don’t need to worry about this, it simply isn’t true. It doesn’t even take long to add files to the network either, in fact it can be done in literally seconds and most of that is just the application handling the work for you. You don’t even have to browse your hard drive to find things that might be worth sharing because this tool will handle it all for you, it is something that you’ll find very useful and therefore we recommend that you install it onto your computer today if you haven’t done so already.
