Mac Skin
If you’ve downloaded and installed Ares onto your system and have had the chance to look through the settings and the navigation menu then you may have noticed that there is a huge amount of different skins available to you. Best of all, you don’t even need to download them from an external server and then have to go through the process of making the tool use the skin you’ve downloaded because they’re all built in for you and ready to use the second you boot it up. In this article, we’re going to be telling you how you can switch to this particular one as well as details on what it looks like.
Changing the skin is very easy to do, it’s not something you should worry about. Of course you won’t know how to do it if you’re a new user so if you don’t know yet then we should probably explain. You’re going to need to open our Ares download and then go into the Control Panel area of the software. This is where you’ll find all of the different settings you could use to customize the piece of software and truly make it your own, make it change for your own personal tastes. Then you go into the Skin tab and select the one you want to use, which should change the skin automatically.
The Mac Skin is not set as the default in any circumstances but it is very easy to switch to it as we’ve mentioned above if you want to use it. It was created back in 2009, making it one of the most recent built-in skins to be included in this piece of software, a lot of the ones included date back to as far back as 2005 when Ares was still rather young and wasn’t nearly as popular as it is today. This skin attempts to look like the Mac OS X operating system, changing the menu bar at the top and all of the icons, including changing the color scheme to grey. It does have a Mac feel to it even if this tool isn’t supported on that operating system.
We think that this skin is suitable for those who want to make their machine look as much like the Mac operating system as possible. A lot of software have skins like this for that very reason, including external tools which can add features such as docks to your computer. It is rather stylish, some might say it is more stylish than the default design used, but we think it’s down to your own personal tastes. You won’t know what it looks like until you give it a go for yourself and since it only takes a couple of seconds to change it, you really have nothing to lose in doing so.
In conclusion, the Mac skin is something that we really love about our Ares free download. It really helps to improve the look of the tool by changing the buttons, icons and images to make them similar to how Apple’s operating system looks. Of course, by switching to this you don’t lose out on any of the great features that have been added to the package too so there is no downside in switching skins, so if you have a bit of time available then go ahead and look through each of the ones on the list and see what you think of them.
