If you’ve been reading all of the blog entries we’ve been posting which are designed to provide you with the latest tips and tutorials on how to run this software then you should know some information about the community chat feature built into the client. However, do you really know how to get started with using it? Some people don’t, which is why we’re going to cover this in this blog post. Read on if you want to know more.

Of course some of you may not know anything about this feature so we better explain a bit more about it first of all. FrostWire has a feature will allows you to communicate with others through various different chatrooms. You can meet new people, talk to existing friends, ask about which files should be downloaded at the moment and anything like that. You can even go into specific chatrooms if you want to talk about a subject specifically rather than a general conversation with everyone. Now we’re going to explain about how to get started.

The first thing you’re going to need to do is create a nickname. Note that this does need to be unique because it’ll be the name that everyone else sees and will identify you as a person, but at the same time don’t use any personal information in this for security reasons. You can set a nickname by going into Tools –> Options –> Community Chat and then entering it into the text box. An alias is a good idea, maybe something that you like or something that you can call yourself which other people won’t know is you as a person. This is an important step to take so think about it carefully.

When you’ve entered your nickname, you’ve done the majority of the work. All you need to do now is to connect to the chat network and then choose a chatroom which interests you. You can do this by going into the Community Chat tab in the main software and then pressing the “Connect” button. Just wait a few seconds while you’re connecting to the server and you should find that the general chatroom is loaded for you. You then have the choice of staying in there and talking to people or choosing another chatroom to talk in, which you can do by clicking on the “Chat Rooms” button and then selecting the one that interests you from the list.

After you’ve done what we’ve told you, you should have completely set up the community chat feature. Whenever you want to go back into it you don’t need to mess around with selecting nicknames again, all you need to do is go back to where you are, press the Connect button and then you’ll be able to talk to people once again, it really is that simple. On a more general note, be careful about what information you give to people in this chat feature because your personal safety is very important and you don’t really know who you’re actually talking to. We’re sure that you already know this anyway, though.

In conclusion, the community chat feature is something that people are starting to take note of and want to use more frequently. This guide explains to you how you yourself can get started with this trend and meet new people yourself and have fun while you’re downloading and sharing files to the rest of the internet community. It really is a revolution, so if you want to take advantage of it as well as being able to download many types of data and information then we recommend that you install it now just like the millions of other people who have done the same thing.

When you’re using a piece of software like this, file associations can be very important. This is because of the purpose of them – they help to save you time when you want to start a file going. In this article, we’re going to be discussing how FrostWire handles them and the different options that the tool gives you so that you can decide how you want files to open. To start with, we’re going to explain what we actually mean when we say this phrase that you can fully understand what we’re talking about.

File associations are where the operating system you’re using will associate certain file extensions with certain pieces of software. For example, by default all .txt files will open with Notepad if this hasn’t been changed. This is done to speed up the opening of tools, you don’t have to manually open pieces of software and then open the respective file in it, you can simply double click the file and let Windows handle the rest for you. This is perhaps one of the best features available to speed things up. Now let’s explain the different options for it in this software package.

“.torrent” files – If you want this tool to automatically open .torrent files for you then this option should be enabled. You can find it by opening the program up and then going into Tools –> Options and then Advanced –> File Associations. This extensions is the default format for torrent files, you’ll see this a lot when you browse the internet for them.

“magnet:” links – These are a new popular replacement for torrent files. They work in the same way but are much easier for torrent sites to store, we’ll talk about them in more detail in a separate article but if you want this program to associate itself with magnet links (another way of downloading files through the network) then enabling this option would be a good idea.

What should FrostWire do with the selected associations on startup? – If you’ve told the tool to use associations and these are kept by the operating system then you’ll have no problems with opening files. However, if another tool changes these to suit their own then you won’t be able to use this method and will need to reset the associations to make sure the operating system knows which to use. This program gives you three different options to choose from when it finds one missing.

Always take the selected – If you select this option, when the tool finds that one of them is missing it will force the settings you selected above. If you told it associate with magnet links for example, it would make sure that when it opens that this is stored by the operating system and changes appropriately.

Ask me what to do – If the software package comes across one of them being missing, by choosing this option it will then ask you what you want it to do so that you can decide for yourself. This is perhaps the best option to go with if you want to decide at the time.

Ignore all – When a missing association is found, the client will ignore it if you select this option. This means that if another program changes the settings to make itself automatically open torrent files then this client will not be able to do the same and you won’t even be prompted about it with this option selected.

In conclusion, file associations are very important to how your computer runs this P2P and torrent client. If you want to be able to download data quickly then selecting these settings is the best way of doing it, it’s very easy to do so too. If you haven’t installed it yet we highly recommend that you go ahead and do so, that way you can enjoy the many benefits that this has to offer to you completely free of charge.

With a piece of software like this, the ability to search properly is obviously going to be a big priority. If you can’t perform a search and get decent quality results back, you’ll find it very difficult to actually use the tool as you won’t be able to find the files you’re looking for. This tool tries its best to supply you with what you need, including a lot of options to customize the experience for you, and in this article we’re going to be discussing the various search options you’ll find in the package.

The search options that we’re going to be discussing in this article are all located in the same area. Simply open up FrostWire and then go into Tools –> Options, which will take you to the control panel which will show you a huge amount of different settings you can alter, all of which will have an impact on how the tool runs. You need to click on the “Searching” tab in the sidebar to see what we’re going to be talking about. Now let’s explain what the options are that you see in this window.

You should see that there isn’t many settings available for you when it comes to this tab. One option you can set is the maximum number of searches that the software can make at any time. If you’re on a fairly old and low-power computer running on a slow internet connection then keeping this low is probably going to be the best option. If, however, you don’t have to worry about your computer hardware as much and are running on an internet connection which will allow you to transfer data quickly, setting this to a high value is a good idea because it will make sure when you search for a file that the results will be shown to you quicker.

The next option is regarding smart search. This is where it will automatically store a database of all of the torrent files it has indexed from your previous searches as well as all of the files it has seen through the P2P network. The aim of this is to increase the speed of your searches – if you make the same searches on a regular basis then a lot of files will have already been indexed therefore reducing the workload the software has to do. The only option you’ll find here is to reset the smart search database which you shouldn’t really need to do so we recommend that you just leave this be and let the tool manage the database for you.

In conclusion, there aren’t many options available in the searching tab but when you think about it, there isn’t many that you really need. Everything is handled by the main program rather than needing to customize it yourself in the options panel. If you want to make a search, just go into the tool and then enter the information relating to it such as keywords and the type of media you’re looking for. If you haven’t done so yet, we recommend that you use the download on our website so you can install it onto your system and enjoy the great benefits that this program has to offer to its users.

Our FrostWire download is well known for being a reliable piece of software that allows you to communicate with people as well as downloading files through the network – any type of file you want, but most users concentrate on obtaining music and videos as these are the most popular. Of course, despite how popular the tool is and how many hours of development have been put in to create, there could be small problems at certain points during the operation. This is something you should make sure gets reported so it can be fixed in the next update, so in this article we’re going to tell you about submitting bug reports.

You’ll be glad to know that it has a feature to allow the software to automatically submit bug reports on your behalf when they occur, you won’t have to manually enter all of the information on their website or anything like that. However, this isn’t done by default so we’re going to explain the different options that are included when it comes to bug reports. You can even choose not to submit them if you really want to although there is no reason for this. You’ll find all of the options in Tools –> Options and then into “Bug Reports”.

The first options you see on this page are “Always Send Immediately”, “Always Ask For Review” and “Always Discard All Errors”. These should be pretty explanatory – when a bug is detected, you need to select what you want the tool to do. We recommend that you select the first option because this keeps everything in the background, therefore you don’t need to do any work at all and it still helps the developers to fix the bug. Asking for a review will make the software prompt you before it submits it to the developers, giving you some information about what is happening, whereas discarding all errors will not submit anything at all no matter what the situation is.

You’ll find another option in this control panel as well called “Send Errors Automatically if FrostWire is Frozen”. This is again very explanatory but what it means is when the option is enabled, if the tool happens to crash it will automatically send all of the errors to the developers without prompting you, it will be done in the background. Obviously as the software will have crashed, giving you a prompt wouldn’t actually be possible anyway. If it has crashed, this is obviously a serious bug that needs to be fixed and we therefore recommend to you that you enable this option just in case a problem does occur so that other users won’t have to struggle with it themselves for long.

In conclusion, this is a great piece of software for downloading files but as with everything, sometimes it may not be perfect. Bugs may occur which could impact on the actions you’re taking – and the best thing you can do to resolve this is by enabling the bug reporting feature. Anything serious should be fixed with a software update done shortly after the report has been analysed and the problem has been resolved. Enabling this is just a way of doing the community a favour as well as making sure you don’t encounter it again, there really is no loss to you. If you haven’t yet installed it onto your system, we recommend that you go ahead and use it and make sure it’s ready to use on your Windows machine.

When you’ve used the download and have it installed on your computer, you’ll be able to open it up and use it whenever you want to without any costs or anything similar. Of course, you won’t be needing it every minute of the day, although you probably will need to go back to it at certain points to check how your downloads are doing or maybe even to start new ones going. In this article, we’re going to be talking to you about the different options you have when it comes to opening and shutting down FrostWire for those rare occasions where you don’t need the tool.

There are two main options that you can select from when it comes to choosing the shutdown behavior of the program, we’re going to talk about them both here. The first thing we should tell you is where you can find them – simply load up the software and go into the options panel. By clicking on the “System Tray” tab, you’ll find the settings that we’re going to be discussing a bit later on so we recommend that you keep this window open while you read this article so you can make your change straight away.

Shutdown Immediately – If you select this option, when you press the close button, the software will shut down straight away and will not stay running in the background. This means that no transfers will be made and no seeding will be done either. It also means that you’ll have to completely re-open the software next time you want to use it too. Perhaps the benefit of this approach is that it saves on RAM usage so your computer could run slightly faster, plus because there isn’t any transfers going on it will also cut your bandwidth usage. This is currently the default action that it will do. Note that there is also a setting to make it show a dialog before it closes which could be useful in case you nearly shut it down by accident.

Minimize to System Tray – This is currently the alternative to the option we’ve talked about above. By using this, when you press the close button it will not shut down, it will simply run in the background and can be accessed through the System Tray. This will make it much quicker to load up when you next need it and it’ll also mean that your transfers will carry on too. It will use more bandwidth by doing this but if you’re part of a private torrent tracker for example, uploading and seeding are essential and by using this option, it just helps to make sure your account stays active.

In conclusion, FrostWire makes it very easy for you to decide whether you’d prefer the software to completely shut down when you press the close button or whether you’d rather it just be minimized. There is a simple option in the options panel which will give you the ability to change it at the click of a button so you’re able to test them both out and see which you prefer and then make a decision. The one thing that should be clear if you’ve been reading a lot of our articles is that it is very easy to use and is recommended for all, so if you haven’t installed it just yet then you really need to go ahead and do so.

FrostWire is a piece of software that includes many unique features you won’t find in a tool of a similar nature. As well as this, it gives you access to a huge amount of options which you can use to customize your experience and match your personal preferences as well as the specifications of your computer. In this article, we’re going to be discussing a few of them in the control panel – mainly the basic BitTorrent settings available to you right now. After reading this, you should be able to go into it and choose the right options for you.

Torrent Data Save Folder – To put it very simply, whenever you use the program to obtain something you’re looking for, the files and the data relevant to what you want will be saved in the folder you select in this option. The tool will automatically set a default for you which will depend on the operating system you have installed on your computer. You can change it by clicking the “Browse” button and selecting the one that is appropriate. If you want to change it back to the default, just click “Use Default”.

Seeding Settings – When your download finishes, some pieces of software will automatically make you seed the torrent file. This is where you give back to the network the data you’ve just received, to peers who are still trying to download it. Some trackers may penalize you if you don’t seed back so bare this in mind, but it gives you the option to select whether you’d like it to seed or not. It does use up bandwidth but it helps you to give back to the community and helps to keep your accounts on private torrent sites safe from being banned for leeching.

Torrent Details – When you’ve started a download going, sometimes you’d like to know a bit more information about what it is you’re getting hold of. This is something you may not be familiar with if you’ve switched from another BitTorrent client, but this tool can show you a webpage detailing lots of important information about what it is you’re downloading. This page will show up as soon as a download starts so you can take a look at it and decide if you want to continue with the download afterwards. You just need to enable the option in the control panel to get this.

In conclusion, using the BitTorrent client to obtain files through the BitTorrent protocol is very easy. Another thing that is simple is customizing the options to make the software run as you want it to – now you can select where your downloads go so you won’t have to keep moving them around and trying to find files, they’ll all be kept in one organised location for you. You can also choose to seed or not depending on your internet connection which can be a good way of saving bandwidth, as well as the option to display extra torrent information for you when you start a download. These are just several examples of how FrostWire tries to make things easier for you.

FrostWire is a BitTorrent client that is well known for its stunning GUI as well as many different features, all of which have been built to make it easier for you to obtain the very best download speeds. One piece of terminology that you may hear when using the tool on your computer is “seeding”. In this article, we’re going to tell you exactly what it means and exactly how it works specifically in this program. By the end of it, you should know much more about what it is and why you should do it.

The first thing we want to talk about is seeding in general. This isn’t something that is specific to this client – It’s actually a term used by the BitTorrent protocol in general. When you’ve finished downloading a file, it has saved to your hard drive and you no longer need any extra data for that particular file, you may just think that the software stays idle until it is next needed. However, this isn’t the case. Seeding is where after your download has finished, FrostWire (or any other BitTorrent client) will upload the data you’ve received to other peers who are trying to download it at the time. It’s basically giving back the information that you’ve obtained by other people, and is done so that everyone can benefit from high speeds while downloading files from the BitTorrent network.

So, now that you know what seeding is, why would you actually want to do it? Surely it provides no benefit to you at all? In some cases this is correct, but the BitTorrent protocol wouldn’t exist like it does today if it wasn’t for people seeding. Our network needs people to keep giving back otherwise everyone would struggle to find any files they want which is bad news for everyone. We would always recommend to people that they seed back into the network because it helps to keep the network running, plus you don’t really lose out on anything either by doing so. On some private BitTorrent websites, you’ll also be required to seed back to the network in order to keep your account active with them so this is something you need to think about.

So, what does this mean in terms of this particular software? You’ll be glad to know that in order to seed to the network, you don’t actually have to do any work at all. When a download has finished, it will automatically go into seeding mode and everything will be taken care of for you. Sometimes you may be in seeding mode but aren’t actually giving any data yet, this is probably because there are no peers connected to your machine at the time but you should keep it running regardless. It will keep the files seeding forever, or until you remove it from the list and manually force it to stop. There isn’t really any reason to do this though so keeping it seeding is a great way to give back to the community.

In conclusion, after reading this article you should now know what seeding is when it comes to the BitTorrent protocol, why it is good for both you and the rest of the community as well as how it works in relation to FrostWire. All of what we’ve said should suggest to you that seeding is a great thing and shouldn’t be something you avoid, go ahead and do so to allow other people to get the data which you have. Uploading your own torrents could also be a good idea so we recommend that you look into this. Either way, we suggest that you install it onto your computer if you haven’t had the chance to do so yet because you really are missing out if you aren’t taking advantage of the many features included in this software package.

Having a library for all of your files is something that can be very important. Once you’ve downloaded a lot of files, one of the most difficult parts is actually being able to keep them all organised so that whenever you need one, you can just go straight in and find it. When you’ve got thousands of files listed in a directory it starts becoming time consuming, so in this article we’re going to be talking about the library feature included in our FrostWire download which tries to solve this problem.

Perhaps one of the most important things we should tell you about to start with is where you can find the library. It’s very easy – just open it up and then in the navigation menu of 4 tabs, just select the “Library” tab. This is where all of the magic happens – you’ll see a sidebar of different types of files that you may have obtained form the network and to the right of it, you’ll see all of the files relevant for that category. There are a few settings just below all of this too. You’ll be able to see it all yourself if you load the program and go into this part of the software.

When you download a file to your computer using this software, you may be wondering how you can get it added into your library so you can manage it using the methods we can describe. The answer to this is simple – you don’t need to add any files yourself, the software takes care of everything. Every time you download a file and it completes, you’ll find that relevant information is taken from it with no input required from you – so for a song, the name, artist and album title may be taken. This is then added to the library, you’ll be able to find it there immediately. It saves you a huge amount of time and works perfectly. We highly recommend that instead of trying to work out where the file is stored on your hard drive, you go into the library whenever you need something.

So how does finding a file actually work? Once you’ve gone into your library, you’ll need to select the type of media you want. The types you’ll find in FrostWire are “Audio”, “Video”, “Images” and “Programs”. There are more but these are the most common ones. You’ll find all of the data you’re looking for split up into these categories for you. You’ll also notice that there’s a search bar in the program which will go through your entire library looking for the keyword that you enter. This can be a great way of getting to something quickly if you’re in a rush and don’t want to look through everything.

In conclusion, using this client to manage all of your files is a great thing. It is a complete package – you can find what you want to download just by entering a few pieces of information. You can wait for it to download and then when it has, you’re able to access it just by taking a look in your library, it doesn’t get much more simple than this. We highly recommend that you install this onto your computer if you haven’t done so already, it’s a great piece of software that is being used by millions.

Being able to share files quickly is obviously very important, it’s something that is key to the success of a piece of software like our FrostWire download. Tools are constantly being updated to try and increase speeds to make it the best but none have yet been able to match up to the standards set by this one. In this article, we’re going to be talking about a rather unique feature which allows you to share files on your computer to other users in literally seconds, plus telling you step by step about how you can do it.

In the previous article we told you about how you can create your own torrent file. This is a rather traditional method that works well because you can then upload it to torrent sites such as The Pirate Bay which will allow millions of people to access it whenever they want. The problem is that this isn’t necessarily the quickest way of doing things, what about if you could take a more social approach and distribute it that way? We’re going to go into more detail about what we mean right now.

The first thing you need to do is go into File and then select either Share file or share folder, depending on the contents. A good thing to do might be to put everything into a .zip file to compress it together, the problem is some users would consider this quite strange and wouldn’t download it because of that reason. You can just share an entire folder if you want to, but make sure that you’re happy with everything in it to be distributed because it really will share it all. Once you’ve pressed the right option, simply select the file or folder that you want.

You’ll be surprised to know that when you’ve selected the file or folder, you’ve pretty much finished the entire process. Within a few seconds of waiting, a window should pop up telling you that you’ve done and the steps you need to take now. You’ll be given a link which you can give to your friends or anyone you want and as long as your computer is online and the application is open, they’ll be able to download it through you by using the link provided. It’s a rather simple concept but it works incredibly well and is much faster than before. Now you don’t need to worry about messing with trackers or distributing torrent files, just share the file and save the link it gives. You can even share the link on Twitter if you want to do this, FrostWire makes it incredibly easy for you.

In conclusion, using this tool to share the files you have on your computer is incredibly quick and powerful. The data you have could be very useful to your friends and other people you know and this is probably the quickest way of giving them access to it. It’s safe and secure, only the people who have this link will be able to download the file so only give it to people that you want to give access to it to. It’s something that you’ll only be able to find here and that is why we highly recommend that you install it onto your computer and not waste time on any other piece of software which won’t be able to support great functionality like this. Join the community and get started now for all of your file downloading needs.

If you’ve got files on your computer that you’d like to share with other people then you’ve probably come to the right place. Creating a torrent will mean that anyone who has a torrent client installed will be able to download it from you and when they’ve finished, they will become seeders who will distribute to other peers too. It truly is a great way of getting files out there. FrostWire provides you with a very simple interface to create torrents with and other users don’t even have to have it installed on their computers to download it. In this article, we’re going to be talking about it in detail so that you know how to use it.

An important thing we need to establish to start with is that a torrent file you create using this program does not store any of the files itself. This helps to keep the file size really small, so when you create a file don’t expect that everything is included in it because most of it is just referencing. It will list the different files that it expects as well as the trackers, which will store all of the locations of the data the peers want and the seeders have. It’s quite difficult to explain but the key thing is that once you’ve created a torrent file you need to keep your computer seeding so that others can keep downloading from you.

Now that we’ve got this sorted, it’s time for us to learn how to create the file you want. The process is very easy – to start, load it up and then go into File –> Create New Torrent. This will display a rather simple looking interface with relatively little options available to select. The first thing you need to do is select either a file or a folder that you want to share. What you select here will be added to the torrent file so make sure you only select the files that you want other people to download to their computers when they use it. “Trackerless Torrent” and “Start seeding” should probably be left on, and then we need to explain the final option.

Tracker Announce URLs are very important, these are the URLs that it will keep checking for information on peers and seeders. Selecting as many of these as possible could be a good way of spreading your files around. You can find quite a few lists of these that you can use, the good thing is that you don’t even need to sign up to them, simply enter the list and you’re all good to go. The most commonly used ones include The Pirate Bay which is one of the torrent protocol’s largest torrent tracker and should always be included when you create a new one. When you’ve found a list, go back into FrostWire and click “Save torrent as” and then save it. You’ll end up with a .torrent file which you can then send to other people and even upload it to torrent websites yourself if you want to.

In conclusion, using this client to create your own torrent is actually incredibly simple. All you need to do is select the files you want to be shared to people on the internet and then give a few tracker announce URLs to get the ball rolling and then you can just leave it. By seeding, when someone wants to download your torrent they’ll be connected to you in the background and should be able to continue downloading until they’ve finished, at which point they’ll also become a seeder which will reduce the load on your internet connection. Overall, we highly recommend the use of this tool for creating torrent files.
