FontWork Gallery in Impress

Using the right fonts when you’re creating presentations in Impress is very important. You want your titles to be large and visible to people who you could be giving your presentation to. You could even want your ordinary text to stand out too. In tools such as Microsoft Office you could use something called WordArt which is quite a common feature seen to try and make text look more interesting and to stand out more. In this article, we’re going to be telling you about an alternative which is available for this software.

FontWork is a very similar thing to WordArt. You can use it to create text in fonts that stand out and use many different colors too which makes them visibly different from ordinary text. They probably shouldn’t be used in professional business documents but if you’re just using it to make a personal spreadsheet then using FontWork could be a good idea. By doing so, it’ll help to get your message across because people will look at it first. Now let’s explain how to use it.

Now that you know what it is, we’re going to be telling you about how it can be used. You’re obviously going to need to go into the suite and then into Impress for this to work. You’ll have to either start a new presentation from scratch or open an existing one if you’d like to add FontWork to something you’ve designed and controlled previously. The first step is making the drawing toolbar display by going into View –> Toolbars –> Drawing. This will give you a new line of tools in the software, one of which is a button which when pressed will display the FontWork gallery. This is where you’ll find the process of adding FontWork to Impress, so we’re going to explain the process.

You should find that the FontWork gallery is now visible on your screen. The first stage is to select the font you’d like to be used. You’ll find that there are many to choose from so we recommend browsing through them all and selecting the one which you think is the most appropriate. You’ll then need to enter the text that you want to use into Open Office so it can then create an image based on the font and text you’ve selected to use. The size of the FontWork can even be chosen if you want to do that, you’re given a huge amount of flexibility by the office suite when you choose to add FontWork.

In conclusion, adding FontWork to your Impress presentations is very easy and very flexible. All you need to do is follow the several steps above to achieve the rest you want, then you just need to change what you have and move it into the correct place so that you can make the most out of your document. You can use FontWork in all of the tools in the suite so you aren’t limited just to this, so feel free to experiment with what you have and see what happens. The program gives you everything you need to manage documents – including this feature to make titles and text much more visible by using more colors, fonts and styles to give you an edge. Open Office is the leader in this industry.
