It means that almost the entire process is done in the background, you won’t even have to wait for the download to finish, you will just be informed when the download has finished and it is ready to be installed. Of course this does mean bandwidth will be used when you don’t necessarily want it to so you must consider all of the options before you do so. You can also select a folder where all of the updates will be stored so you can keep the files organised for future usage.

If you want it to, the whole process can be done in the background so that you never even have to worry about whether the suite is up-to-date or not, whereas if you’d rather do it all manually so you knew what was going on in the background on your computer then you can set everything to be done manually if you want to, but do remember to check on a regular basis because updates are constantly being rolled out to make sure the suite remains competitive and so that nobody has to put up with bugs in the software.
